A Great Start to 2021

Well, so far 2021 seems to be shaping up well for me regarding my writing journey.

I’ve had a poem published in ‘The Flower Shop on the Corner’ from Red Penguin Books and another one in ‘Growing Up’ from Pure Slush Books.

I also won a first and third prize in the Mannum Show Written Word section and the overall champion sash.

I had the honour of judging the Gawler Community House Harmony Week poetry competition, and the Callington Show Written Word section.

My writing groups are going well , and a writing event we had planned for last year that had to be cancelled due to Covid 19, has been re-scheduled for May this year. It’s called ‘Words on the Water’ and is a two-hour river cruise here in Mannum. An opportunity to meet other writers and be inspired by the beauty of the river.

Today I updated the website and took the opportunity to count how many works I’ve had published so far. Aside from my own collection (68 poems,) I’ve had 38 different poems published in 25 anthologies (making an even 100,) as well as 7 stories. Not bad! Hopefully more good fortune to come.
