Mannum Writers Collective -

The Mannum Writers Collective was formed in 2019 to discuss all things writing, share work in a supportive environment and set challenges that broaden writing skills.

Murray Bridge Community Centre Writers Group

This group began as a 6-week writing course. Participants enjoyed it so much that we continued on afterwards as a regular group that meets weekly at the community centre in Beatty Terrace, Murray Bridge. Call them on (08) 85 311 799 to find out more.

Adelaide Plains Chapter & Verse -

A conversation back in 2012 with friend and fellow writer, Carolyn Cordon led to the establishment of our first writer's group, Adelaide Plains 'Chapter & Verse.' While initially the group consisted of Carolyn and myself, it soon grew into a very successful and productive gathering. Working with Carolyn gave me the confidence to take my writing more seriously and led to my involvement with Gawler Poets at the Pub. Although I moved on, the Adelaide Plains Chapter & Verse group is still growing strong under the auspices of Adelaide Plains Poets, of which Carolyn is the president. I still attend when I’m in the area.

This group are also the facilitators of the Adelaide Plains Festival of Words, a weekend of writing activities, workshops and guest speakers. The festival is in its fourth year and is going strong.

Gawler Poets at the Pub -

Gawler Poets at the Pub is held on the last Sunday of each month at the Prince Albert Hotel at 2pm. This is an opportunity for writers to read their work in an intimate, small group environment. There is also the chance to participate in a five-word challenge, the winner receiving a bottle of wine donated by the Hotel management.

Pleasant Prose & Poets -

Originally called 'Rustic Writers,' I initiated this group in 2014 for writers in the Springton/Mount Pleasant area. Although I eventually moved out of the area, I'm pleased to say that this group continues on. They meet each fortnight on a Thursday morning at 10am at the Mount Pleasant Library.
